| A native of Vermont and west coast resident, Bob Doerr brings to his art the background of a poet, musician, as well as a psychologist trained in perception theory. His body of work is largely mixed media paintings and monotypes from a specially designed Japanese press. He experiments widely with a variety of media and forms. He is often seen in town driving his Chevy pick-up art truck, a mosaic of five hundred rectangular images. | ||||||||

Bob
calls his studio poemia, Greek for "a place where something
is made." It is a converted potting shed a few yards behind his home,
large enough to do bigger canvases and small enough for quiet focus. Occasionally
Dr. Doerr leads collage workshops on his rural retreat in the Sierras.
His works are in collections world wide, and he donates a percentage of
his sales to Oxfam and
Amnesty International. |
